Candle Molds

These candle molds came about as a way to make custom shaped candles to give as gifts. I played around with different shapes, ultimately landing on wavy, spiral, and bricks. The wavy candles came out the cleanest, the other two types lost a little wax in the mold as part of the demolding process. This could probably have been fixed by making the molds in 3 or 4 parts rather than just 2 halves. To prepare for casting, I lubricated the molds with vegetable oil and placed them in the freezer overnight. The resulting 6 or so candles were given to my Mom as a Mother's day gift.
